Durham is a city and county seat in North Carolina. As of 2014, the United States Census Bureau estimated that the city’s population was over 250,000. It is the 4th most populated city in the state and the 78th most populated city in the country. The city is also at the center of the Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area. Four counties are included in this area, and it has an estimated population of over 540,000. Some government offices such as The US Office of Management and Budget also includes Durham as part of the Triangle Region of North Carolina. As of 2014, this area had an estimated population of over 2 million people.
